| Today, I got four adult peppermint bristlenose plecos! They are L071, One is very clearly male! Two are quite clearly female and one looks to me like a lesser dominate male, or a more mature female... we are yet to find out! They are in a 125 litre, will they breed in this tank? It has wood and sand with a few plants and handmade coconut caves. I also have 4 slate caves coming in the post from eBay! The cats are about 10cm in length, I read somewhere they normally start to breed when they are about 12cm+ Any input is welcome | |

| Well, the tank is def big enough and given the room and the fact that from the pics in your welcome post there is def am male and female you might be in luck it may take them a while to settle in as they are a bit more picky than common birstlenose but the essesnce is the same. i would give them about a month to settle in and then see what their behaviour is like, if the male is caved up then have a go at triggering a spawn. Curby has a How To link on here and my bristlenose article has a long breeding section. both of these deal with the common but they are basically the same, the respond to the same cues etc. Oh, and from the pics i would say that they are def ready to breed | |

| I certainly won't be adding any other bristlenose into there anytime soon and if they begin to show breeding signs, and my albinos outgrow their tank... I will give them to my boyfriend to look after till I get a bigger one (My mum will kill me but oh well!) I've got 4 slate caves coming in the post from ebay and currently have two large pieces of wood in there and some home made coconut caves (cured) I've just got to wait now! Read looooads about them but I will deffinately be reading everything I can on here Thanks! (Ive got this post and my other confused, but you know what I mean haha) | |
