| The length of a fish is measured fron the snout to the base of the caudal(tail) fin.
Although a longfin BN might be 12cms long with its tail 5cms it would only be measured as 7cms (say for stocking levels).
You would have to compare a longfin and common that are both the same length from snout to base of tail.
Longfins will probably grow slower than commons.

Longfins get to the same size as shortfins (and a fully grown longfin is a sight to behold!)
they just take longer to get there are a lot of energy goes into those fins | |
