Go & get yourself a pH test kit, well worth it..

pH stands for ‘potential of hydrogen’ and is the measurement of the acidity or alkalinity of a substance.
The scale runs from -1.0 (Hydrochloric acid) to 13.9 (caustic soda) although most substances will fall between 1 and 9. Higher numbers are alkaline substances and lower numbers are acidic substances. The pH scale is logarithmic, meaning that pH 8 is ten times more alkaline than pH 7 and a hundred times more alkaline than pH 6. pH 7 is considered neutral as this is the pH level of pure water..

ph test are quick and easy to do, a kit will only cost the same price of one or two fish and will normally do about 50 tests.

Try and get something LIKE THIS or try and pick up a different test each week.

"If you keep good water you will keep good fish".
