Re-Sealing a tank? Empty
PostSubject: Re-Sealing a tank?    Re-Sealing a tank? EmptyFri Oct 08, 2010 12:58 pm

In one of my tanks I noticed the other day in the top corner that black sealant has come away (approx 1inch) on the outside the seal has been peeled (i think) of fell off through time and on the inside looking through the tank it seems you can see the black seal in the corner right up to the gap but where the gap is it seems see through. No water is leaking or has leaked.. above the gap the seal is normal..

Any ideas?

I can swap the fish to my spare (fry tank 25 gallon) and try to re-seal if I got a sealant from the pet shop and just went over the gap inside and out (probably all the edges too), is that all that is needed? :<a href='h

I can see the pic Very Happy

You can re-seal the tank using aquarium silicon. generally it look shocking and i only do it on breeding tanks. or you can pay someone to do it...not too expensive generally Smile

wow pictures are back....

i love blue male betta... they look good in a tank with a yellow or white packdrop.... that is unconventional..
but you have to show your fish at their greatest sometimes Smile

like my peppermints look lovely in a blue back drop, and my albinos look lovely in a black back drop Smile

i just resealed a tank...

I use the grout spreader available at a well known DIY chain for getting that perfect seal too:)

when I mean a grout spread there is a few available... will try to post a picture later...
as it looks like a small pen with a rubber curve on the end and it leaves the finish perefect Smile
