Hi I recently (4 months ago) bought my first baby bn Pleco. He's lived, thrived, and is looking like a boy (yay!). However, he's lately gone weird on his coloring.
If you take a look at moderator Beano's profile pic, you will see the exact same thing that mine is showing. The orangey/brown areas, that is what mine has.
Is that normal? Should I worry? What's going on with Mr. Plecostamoose!?

I tried to upload a pic that I found on another site which also looks a LOT like Mr. P. Then I realized I can just link to the url...
and here it is.

sounds to me like you could have got one which was mis identified,
although some do change a little in colour when maturing or when not stressed...

as such we need to see photo's from varying angles and views.....

the change in colour can be totally natural or it could be the sign of an infection. Some bristlenose do get mottled paterns on them so dont fret too much, just get a pic up so we can see.

In the mean time if you are concerned then dose the tank with melafix and pimafix just to be safe Smile
