I thought carp were cold water fish and bristlenose were tropical. I have always kept mine like that.

Your tank looks very nice.

My main tank has been running for three years now with just normal maintenence i.e. gravel siphoning, filter cleaning, a bit of scraping sides (but not too much) and a bit of general cleaning around top of tank.
Looking at your tank it looks pristine and new and sparkling.

Should an established tank ever be stripped down and re set up assuming the filter bacteria are kept running?
