| TO get a a true answer you would need to specify the size of the bristlenose and whether a single one or multiples Also I've not known a bristle to clean the algae of sand... or is that just mine.. | |

Also I've not known a bristle to clean the algae of sand... or is that just mine.. Just 1 Bristle Nose at average size. The tank is small and the substrate is fine white gravel and not sand.

| A week would be a safe bet , not expecting the bristlie to work flat out would probably get better results, what else are you going to put in the tank when it's clean Paul? J | |

I've just give it a good clean at the front the BN's have helped loads but they didn't touch any algae on the plastics plants so I took all the plants out and hand cleaned them. You can see patches on the back of the tank where the BN's have been doing there job Looking more like a fishtank now instead of a jungle of algae

| the algae on the plastic plants looks like green hair alage and is not the BN food of chioce. infact mine never touch the stuff.
The best way to kill it is a 5 second dip in 3parts bleach:7 parts water.
workks everytime and the BN will eat the dead stuff...go figure
