| i just bought some medium size pieces of mopani wood to add to my breeding tank. it's african wood that is high in releasing tanins into the water. it helps soften the water and lower ph too which is meant to help with breeding. i'm soaking it at the moment for a couple of weeks but other than that i just have heaps of driftwood pieces. you can order mopani from most aquarium shops. hope this helps | |

| yeah, pep23 has some good advice. tho it is expensive. Basically wood you buy in a shop is ok. gum and acacia is good as well. basically anything that is hard will do, the soft woods are going to breakdown and they can release some nasty things. Pine is a good example of this, never put pine into a tank! | |

| I have just bought a piece of mopani wood that I think is small but the shop thought was medium for £6.99. I didn't really need it but just liked the shape and hollow underside besides its nice to change a bit of the scenery for me and probably the BNs too. | |
