| Waterchange 15% twice a week is sufficient. I leave my blinds open so my tanks get sunlight so I don't use aquarium lights. But 6 hours should be fine. | |

| When I have fry I add fresh zucchini every day as well as rocks from other tanks with algae on it. Usually they are in a barebottom tank so it is easy to siphon poop as well as old food out every day. then I replace the water siphoned out I change some water every day. I'm a water change fanatic If their spawning frequently I keep a tank outside with water and flat rocks so algae will grow on the rocks. Here's an idea of what I mean Carol | |

| Congartulations on your 1st batch of fry I fed my first ever batch on lettuce, nowadays I feed cucumber for the first few days and then start adding harder veg and wafers as they develop. Great idea from Carol about the algae | |

| Hello, congrats on the spawn. How are they going?
I thought I would just say how I raise my fry, there is many feeding methods, times, amounts etc.
I work on the idea that all baby life needs to grow as fast and as strong as they can to survive and so I blanch zucchini and or pumpkin each night (sometimes every second night if I'm busy) and of course ensure nothing is left in the tank over 24 hours and in the morning I feed the fry algea wafers. This also means that water changes are very frequent ( 10% a day)
Not sure how everybody else does it but it works for my fry.
I hope this helps. | |
