| Hi all,
Well we have our lastest clutch of fry, They are 4 weeks old and growing well. I will post the water peramtiters tomorrow as we have just done a water change as Male and Female only been back in the same tank for a day.
We have about 200 fry at 4 weeks old and about 20 fry at 2 & 1/2 months old.
We have never done anything special to get the plecs breeding in April last year we went on holiday and did a big water change on our 60ltr tank.(prob about 30%) while we where away we had a text from the Mother-in-law saying we had baby plecs "what do I do?".
Well not sure what to do we told her leave them and just put in extra fine catfish food and we would have to do some research. We got home to find yes we did have baby plecs and ever since then we have to seprate the mum and dad plec to prevent breeding and over crowding.
We have recently bought a 160ltr tank which we now to grow out our plecs.
As I said I will post water peratiter tomorrow as we are exspecting eggs in next few day!!!

Hi Jeff Never again we will feed baby Plecs any blanced or fresh veg. We did that with our first batch and lost over 60%. I know people who do that and get great results but our personal exsprience of this type of feeding are not good so we avoid it. Lee | |
