| Something a bit different. At the shop we have several mature bristlenose fish in a tank for sale. they are mature and in a tank with some tetra species. I noticed that one of the females was looking quite gravid the other day however, there is no cave. I was making up some slate caves to sell in the shop and threw my one i was using as a template into their tank...and the rest is history haha. give them a cave and wait the tank is in a bank of 7 tanks. the total volume of the row is about 800ltrs and is filtered by a trickle filter/sump system. the pH is 7, no amonia or nitrite, nitrate gets to about 40 before we do water changes which we do on mondays, so when the eggs were laid it was 5 days after the WC. There was only one male in the tank, 3 females one of which was very gravid, she was clearly the mum. Only change was the cave. other fish in the row include Large angels, Clown loaches, lots of tetra species, odd barb, the bristlenose and the gold spots. something a bit different but shows how easy it is when the fish are ready | |
