OK well iv recently decided on moving from bn breeding to dwarf pleco breeding. A month ago i purchased a colony of 6x L202 plecos as stage one of my breeding plan (they were cheap so i jumped at the chance quick smart lol) Now i say stage one as i was going to start trying to breed them once i moved house (didnt end up moving in the end No ) then a week ago i spotted some more plecos for sale and couldnt resist (even tho im not ready to house them pleco breeding tank project 484291715 ) They are a breeding pair of L333 plecos (nice and big at 12cm too!) and a young pair of L134 plecos that have apparently spawned but the male booted the eggs. I got them this week end, so in the 4ft with the L202s they went. OK so thats the plecos sorted.
Now the tank. My 3ft tank that was previously a shrimp tank was occupied by a pair of peacock cichlids as the dominant ones in my aquaone tank were too aggressive for them. But i have since moved them back into the aqua one. The 3ft is currently still running with a couple cherry shrimp (god knows how they survived with the peacocks in there) and a heap of trumpet snails (damn things!). What i need to do now is remove the beach sand x shell grit sand out of the tank and replace with the river sand i purchased. I have cleaned the river sand and its ready to go into the 3ft. Once i clean out the beach sand i will start taking pictures to show the progress.

Just a long overdue update on this.

3ft tank was converted to a Lake Tanganyika tank. It has undergone some changes but it now currently houses 12 neolamprologus multifasciatus aka shellies or multis and 4 bumblebee gobies. The tank hit a decline because of aggression from other inhabitants including (some very territorial) albino princess cichlids and a couple (very predatory) altolamprologus compressiceps.

Now back on the plecos. The L202s were sold and are now providing their new owner with lots of fry lol. I purchased a new 3ft tank for the L333s and L134s and they have been living in there with some guppies for around 7-8 months now. Aaaannnnd.... About 3 weeks ago I found 2cm fry in the tank! I was over the moon! (Still am lol) at first I thought they were L134 as when I first noticed the L333 trapping I've been pestering with a torch to see if they had finally done the deed. But never seen eggs scratch I must be blind because these fry have turned out to be L333s lol. I'm still happy tho Very Happy

So yeah I've kinda moved from breeding Bn to breeding dwarf plecos. I still keep Bn. I currently have 2 young female albino shortfin in my 4ft keeping it clean, a common shortfin in my aqua one 980T and also Froggy is still kickin (so to speak). For those of you who don't know Froggy, he's my little deformed albino shortfin Bn also living in my aqua one 980T.
