| Well after around 7 months of having my peps my boy is on eggs!!! I sold the original male two weeks ago and bought a new mature male, the first night he was in the tank my two big girls were keen(they never paid any attention to the other boy).5 days ago i decided to take the sand out the tank for the bare bottom approach and in the process did a water change of around 50+%. Now the slate cave has a huge spawn in it and the male is fanning away like a champion,in between fighting of the second female who is frantically trying to get inside . PH is around the 7.0 mark there is a slight ammonia reading(very slight) thats all thats tested the tank is a standard 4 ft is running a fluval F3 canninster, two sponge filters and a fluval U4 internal It houses the adult trio and 6 sub adults(and last week added 5 baby 202s and 3 baby 333s(only in there till the new tanks cycled) Do you think the second female will be allowed in??? | |

| Congrads on the spawn , if you have a tumbler you can put the eggs in the tumbler and then the male will spawn with the other female , i do this all the time with my fish and some times a male will spawn with 3 females in a row by doing it this way. but then i give him a good rest with lots of fresh vegs | |

| Congrats on the spawning. Peps are very sensitive and notorious egg kickers. I found my male only did his duties full term when I didn't know they had even spawned or when I just left them alone | |

| i might have to invest in a tumbler then...they have started hatching but i wandering if i leave the shrimp in now..will they damage the wriglers?
Also would the other female trying to get in cause him to kick them? | |

| I never had any cherry shrimp in with my eggs or fry so it will be just a guess with me . but i would say if the shrimp didn`t bother the eggs they won`t bother the fry either. with it being your first spawn its up to you if you leave them or not. if it was me i would leave them in with the shrimp and see what happens. but be sure to keep us posted on how it goes. and take lots of pics as they hatch and grow. | |

| my cherry shrimp are fine with eggs and wrigglers. They help keep them clean and free of fungus! | |
