| I did a third cold water change a week ago and ever since there has been heaps of action and this arvo i came home and one of my males was in his cave fanning his ass off sitting on a very large bunch of eggs.WOOT WOOT . Since i am moving house in a few weeks i wanted to put the fry and dad in a fry saver so i do not have to try and catch them all. Just wondering how many days i should wait before doing so? | |

| Peps are notorious egg booters so you could wait until they have hatched and then move dad n cave into the fry saver. Or you could risk it and move him while on eggs. | |

| Oh well never mind that. the larger male in the tank who is about 13cm decided all of a suden that he wanted that cave that dad and eggs are in even though he has been in the same one for months. Last night he decided he didnt want that cave anymore so the eggs were totally abandoned. So i put them in a plastic floater in the same main tank with an air stone. They still have good colour but this is my first attempt at doing this so we will just c how it goes. Does it sound like i did the right thing? | |

| sounds like you did the best you could with the materials at hand. I always recommend people keep an egg tumbler handy for just such this reason | |

| Oh yeh my parameters ph 7.4 tds 250 temp 28 nitrate/nitrite 0 or close enough to
i think the trick was that i stopped worrying so much about water changes. all the parameters where stable even after 1 month of not changing the water. i fed them cucumber or zuchinni most of the time and some higher protein foods like blood worms a couple of times a week only in small doses though. Then when my girls were looking rather plump i did a 1 third cold water change and let them get down to business. | |

| Yep, if you want something badly, that is the reason why it will not happen. Good luck with the cuties, and keep us informed - with lots of pictures! | |

| That is the spirit Slantula! I can tell, that you are badly infected with BN-virus by now. If I were you, I would take pics of the developments stages of the eggs. Believe me, fascinating to take a look at the pics after a while. | |
