| hey guys, im a real newbee, but just dropin a line here. I have only 2 brown bristlenoses, and low and behold they spawned, so my question here is, out off 40 or so fry, half are brown and half are yellow, half of the yellow have red eyes and the other half of the yellows have black eyes, is it normal to get all 3 types in a spawn?? | |

| hi and sounds like your commons have had common, albino and lemon yellow (L144) fry. the parents must have quite a mix in them to start off with lol | |

| yeah it was quite a shock to have found they had spawned at all, then to find 3 types. got all but a couple out of main tank, into a grow out tank with big daddy. oh and my main tank is a cold water with goldfish, i no its bad to keep goldfish and bristles together, but it seems to work? | |

| just dont let the water get too cold. bristlenose can go quite cold, lowest i have had them was 18 degrees. but any lower than that and you will have issues. Congrads on the spawn. Your parents must have an amazing combo of genes | |
