| That is so odd, I wonder what could cuase a previously fertile male to become infertile?
As long as you love and enjoy him ll the same then all is well : ) | |

| this is an old thread but i wanted to update.... so the other day i looked the cave and lo and behold there was eggs! and they were fertile! (they are fry now!) thought it was very weird that all of a sudden he has decided to fertilise again. the only thing thats changed in the tank is the addition of a condensation tray/lid. the water before used to evaporate A LOT and im wondering if thats what stopped him from breeding. before i used the lid the TDS of the water was very high (around 700, due to evaporation). my normal tap water is very hard around 400. so im thinking maybe he started breeding again because the water conditions got better due to less evaporation and lower TDS. thought this was quite interesting so i decided to share! anyway, im happy | |
