| I have a breeding pair of green dragons and 1 male long finned calico and a female super red in a 55 gallon tank. Dimensions are 4'x18"x19". Its a planted tank with a bunch of bog wood, including 6 caves. Questions: 1) Is that enough room for the males? 2) Will they still breed? note:the calico and super red had their own tank, due to "marriage compromises" I"m cutting down on tanks. Reason why they're in one tank. They bred once before. Each male seems to stay on their own side of tank,at least when the lights are on | |

| Hi,there should be room in that tank for 2 males as long as you have lots of cover, hiding places and caves (and it sounds as if you do).The only problems could be at feeding times.Try to put the same foods at both ends of the tank so that there will be no fighting and everyone will get their fair share of food. Also have some bog wood, plants and caves at each end. They will then be able to have their own little breeding territory and there should be no problems, they should still breed just as before.Give them time to settle into their new environment and to sort out territory first and just keep a close eye on things for a while. Having said that some fish are just beligerant and are hell bent on having the whole tank to themselves lol, especialy if that is what they are used to and then you introduce another male.Just keep an eye on them incase. | okay, thanks a bunch Bristlenoses I finally got the calico and super red breeding, first batch was small,I think because the female isnt full size yet. I thought the fry would come out as commons but they are pinkish with black eyes(kinda like L144's). I'm hoping they are super reds so excited that I couldnt sleep. Its really hard to find super reds here in the states in pet shops unless I get them from aquabid and theyre pricey about $50-$60 an inch. I paid $60 for mine at one inch | |

| Just for your info, if your dimensions are correct you have a 75 gallon tank. | |

| Since he's from Utah, I doubt it's imperial gallons. DLJ | |

| as long as the males are keeping to their "corners" it should be fine for 4 plecos. I've got a trio in the same foot print though a bit shorter in height (40 gal). They are getting an upgrade soon though. It's not because of the adults size or quantity it's their prolific habit of procreation and the resulting children. DLJ | |
