| How many days you wait before you put same female for breeding? What is optimal number of days in literature? I wait 40 days. Thanks | |

| It's not female your concerns're supposed be about. They'll breed when they have eggs ready. But males need some time out - otherwise, they'd exhaust themselves. While guarding, they don't eat much (if anything). My guy gives himself 3 to 4 weeks to straighten the bristles (counting from the moment he lets all the fry out to the new spawn). | |

| yeah, females are not the problem. they will spawn and then go back to feeding and being merry. The male on the other hand can be so dedicated that he will starve himself to death to look after his spawns. He is the one who needs a break, generally about 30 days is the norm but it does vary a lot. | |

| Some females will lay another lot of eggs as soon as the fry leave the nest.So this can be as little as 12 days between batches. Not all females do this and it is important as stated above to give the male/s a rest. Bristlenoses | |

| Thanks a lot. Is there any danger that something bad happend to female (i don't know, died, or stop breeding...) if she lays eggs once in 20 days or so? I planing to buy spirulina, i heard that this is the best way to recover in form. Thanks again. | |

| As long as your females have good clean living conditions and are fed a good varied diet such as fresh veg and algae wafers they will be fine.It is the males that can't keep raising one batch after another. Bristlenoses | |

| I jusr want to have optimize and rational production. I wait 40 days beetwen two breedings, always select for breeding female around 10cm or more. There was times when I have over a 1000 ancistruses and sometimes I have barely 100. Now I have around 15 pairs and I wanna start from the begining, whit your helps and knowledge. Market is solid, I know a lot of people who have pet shops almost in every city, and everything that I produce I sell. Cheers. | |

| Thanks. I breed so many fishes: Trichogaster Trichopterus, Angelfish, Colisa Lalia, Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi etc and fries are so small, and i don't have so much time for cleaning, feeding ... With bristlenoses I don't have problems, babies are so big, i don't use artemia salina, external filter is ON from the first day so I decide to breed only them. How much they cost in your country when someone buy at least 100 ancistrus (3-4cm)? I sell them for 0,4€ i suppose that this is a small price for countries who have better standard then my? | |
