Species tank for new BNPs Empty
PostSubject: Species tank for new BNPs   Species tank for new BNPs EmptyTue May 21, 2013 6:03 pm

Lost my 2 BNPs to bloat in the last 2 weeks. I really miss them, so in the next couple of months, I want to set-up a species tank for some new BNPs.

If I do a 20 long, can I do 4 BNPs? Will they get along? AqAdvisor says I will be 85% stocked with 2 AC30s or 1 AC50, with obviously better filtration with the 2 filters.

Do I need two filters on a 20 long or is one HOB sufficient for the BNP's bioload?

should be all good. I dont think there would be much difference between the two different filter options, except the power bill maybe.

If you are worried about the fish getting along add in some extra wood to hide behind.

you'll only have to worry about filtration once they start producing fry. and boy can they produce fry lol

I think everything would be fine with the one filter. Good luck!

And keeping BNs in a community setting, I try to feed them first so they can fill up on their greens to prevent bloat. I still lost one in my turtle tank to boat though. I was super sad as I had him 4 years ;,(
