bloodworms (frozen) Empty
PostSubject: bloodworms (frozen)   bloodworms (frozen) EmptyTue Sep 15, 2009 8:11 am

Hi all, someone told me today that feeding BNs bloodworms can be really bad?!?!
It is said that the worms have a small hook on the end of their body and this is not degested properly by the BNs causing them to bloat and cause death!!

My BNs love bloodworms Twisted Evil can someone tell me if what i was told is true??

Cheers!!

High mattmania, I can't say I've heard the theory about the hook on the
worms, but I do know that over feeding blood worm or high "protein" foods
causes bloat and dramas because their stomachs don't like to digest a lot of protein- a little bit is OK.
cheers J

I have heard the hook thing and not in relation to BN's but other fish. I still feed them maybe once a week with a few bloodworms and I think I will continue to do so.

In case if your worried about this I've found a pellet form of blood worms and other live foods such as brine shrimp.
You can find them at your local pet supply shop, but i got mine from the local fish hatchery.
