| Hi everyone. I've been using a UV light on one of my tanks.I have it switched to come on with my lights. Any thoughts if 24 hours would be better? | |

| why? The water will filter out most of the UV. UV light is important for all animals but too much can be detrimental (read sunburn! ) UV lights are normally used for reptiles that need much more UV for vitamin D production to stimulate appetite among other things. Most standard fish lights will have all the UV needed for fish. There is absolutely no point in leaving it on 24hrs a day. | |
