| I used to keep fish with my mum when I was a kid and after being out of it for 8-10years I thought id treat myself and my 2 daughters to a tank for Xmas, (which meant I needed to get started mid nov/dec so it was ready for fish come xmas lol). I have a 200l All Pond Solution (BOYU) tank with a powerhead trickle filter (EHEIM Classic 350 on order at my LFS) Everything has come on a long way in the last few years, external filters were something id never heard of (probably v expensive bk then) and I had no idea of the amount of colour morphs available for the BN the only ones I had seen were the standard coloured ones, I'd not even seen Albino back then. The eventual plan for when my LFS hears of one is to get a female Super Red and attempt to breed them. I will get some Pics and my Full stock list when I have time, but we have gone for a small fish community tank, ranging in size from endlers to danios in size bar my Red and Black Ancistrus who seems huge even though he is only young ~3" Here is a pic from a week or so ago (I have more plants now and more come in every time I drive past my LFS lol) | |

| Cheers mate, I hope you enjoy it 3D backgrounds can be a fair bit of effort. I prefer to get some tall growing, easy to care for plants. Vallis, Blue Stricta or ambulia work well. Though, if you are planning of fertilising the tank they will grow fast, and forget about them and CO2 injection. | |

| Co2 injection seems too much fussing about, im currently on a 10hr light cycle and have started dosing ferts once weekly, had to be careful about what as copper and inverts arent a good mix lol. I have no idea what the plants I have are called and neither did where I got the from. Most of my plants leaves seem to be falling apart and slightly yellowing, but I have a bubble wall and a venturi ion my power head so I wondered is it was lack of co2, so ive stopped the venturi for the time being. but I have no equipment to monitor o2/co2 levels in the water only an API master ph/nh3/no2/no3 kit | |
