| Hey guys been a big breeder of common bn got over a 1000 fry going at the moment, half the tanks have standard driftwood from the aquarium store and the other tanks have bits of gumtree I have collected from the local creek that I judged to have been submerged for a long time. Whilst I havn't had any problems just wondering if the two types of wood would be equally beneficial? Is bog wood a totally different wood all together? Moving into peppermints and more expensive L numbers so just want to get it perfect. Thanks | |

| Never take wood from a creek!
There are so so so many reasons why not to, its illegal for a start, the chances of picking up something nasty are very high, you are removing habitat from the struggling native wildlife and there are plenty of pieces of wood that you can get that do not have all these draw backs.
If you like the look of gum, then go to a mates farm and collect some from the paddock, treat it yourself and you are all good to go. | |
