| I know you really shouldn't have 2 males in a tank if they are breeding, but are they ok if there are no females in the tank with them, or is it always sensible to keep them seperated?

| They will be fine together as long as there is enough hiding places for them they are very territorial so they would fight a lot if there isnt enough space and hiding places | |

| It's a 4 ft tank quite well planted and bog wood and rock caves - I'm going to add a couple of slate caves, one at each end. I presume if I add any ladies then its better to seperate them? Mind you I don't want them breeding in the main community tank as I'm sure the Angels and the Pearl Gourami would eat any fry.

| you wouldn't really need to separate them if you added a female to be honest and a cave at each end of the tank is best but you can guarantee they will both want the same one lol | |

| LOL maybe I should get "bunk caves", but I guess they may then argue who has the top one!! | |

| ive never had any bother keeping two males in the same tank ive got pairs in their own tanks breeding groups in their own tanks trios of two males and one female in their own tanks and are all breeding away with no bother i just give them plenty of caves to choose from but never have them faceing each other but they all face the front of the tank just so i can see whats going on oh and their all in four foot tanks | |

| Someone local to me has 2 unrelated male L144s and as I haven't even started cycling my 3ft tank they'll need both to go into my community tank. I was worried they would fight, but looks like I should be ok. They are still juveniles anyway at the moment. | |

| Juvies are ok. I have loads all together in 2 foot tanks at times and there is never any drama. I wouldn't do so with adults though. | |
