| I came across a veggie mix I hadn't seen before when I was looking at veggies at Walmart. It's a hybrid or mix of Squash and zucchini, Looks like a zucchini but has the consistency of a solid squash. No fibers or anything like that just solid "flesh" as it were. I have found that it keeps longer in the fridge and takes longer to get mushy in the tank. I don't know if any of you have every come across it before or if it's old or a new thing, but this is the first time I have seen it. My b/n seem to absolutely love it. and I have kept it in my tank for two days(same piece) without any significant molding or rot. Just thought I would share this info with you all and see if you have any luck with it. | |

| I read about giving them peas and beans....has anyone ever tried dried beans with any of their plecs? Would that even be a good idea?
With the sweet potatoe, do you peal it first? | |

| My ABNs and BNs love zucchini, fresh string beans, carrots, yellow squash. I serve the zucchini and squash on a thin skewer which works quite well because they have a lot of surface space to chew on. I'm really curious about the screwcumber though. Today, I added a slice of sweet potato to a skewer of zucchini. The fry are interested...we'll see what happens tonight. Dad loves carrots Fry munching on Zucchini on a driftwood branch Sweet Potato and Zucchini skewer | |

| Nice pix abnmom1, great to see some foto"s attached to a post :bounce: Oh yeah food: I've only tried Zuchinni, green beans and peas( funny the peas had no where near the success as the other 2), and hold down the zuchini down with a spoon , just thread it on the skinny end +no pointy bits that you get with a fork. Waiting to try sweet potatoe. Cheers J | |

Do have a request though, would it be possible to change the link for the veggie list to here as the PF one might be removed at some point

| Keratin is an extremely strong protein which is a major component in skin, hair, nails, hooves, horns, and teeth. J | |

| keratine is just literally what your hair and nails are made out of like KJ said it is a type of protein. but when eaten by us it doesnt provide much for us. people say zucchini is mroe healthier than courgette to us but for fish its quite opposite i believe | |

| Beet tops and spinach are my bns absolute fave. It is easy to grow on my tiny balcony and I enjoy it too. they particularly like it if the spinach goes to seed a bit, they eat all the soft flowers off first. | |
