Hi All....... quite an interesting site you have. My wife, Lari, and I are into koi and fancy goldfish. Showing both and breeding goldies. We like having plecos in the tanks but plecos can pick on the goldies. We discovered that the bristle noses are much better than other plecs about that so we have converted most of the tanks to bristle noses. They can be rather pricey here for some reason and we have lots of tanks. Well, one thing has led to another and we really enjoy the BN's so we have now started to breed them; specifically, Albino Longfinned BN,s. I got a breeding trio from a place in FL and set up a tank for them. This weekend we discovered eggs and yesterday they started hatching. We now have baby BN's all over that tank... Smile We have no idea what we are doing or what to do next but we are having fun doing it.. lol We also have a ranchu spawn and a large ryukin spawn going at the time so it is a bit nuts around here right now.

High BruceP and welcome to the forum .
That's awesome news you're now spawning ABN, there's plenty of info on here
to point you in the right direction for better care or if you can't find it - ask someone- it would be beneficial for you to look for it though, you'll probably find some other good stuff to.
Happy browsing and posting..
cheers J

Thanx for the warm welcome. We live in Milwaukee, WI which is a medium sized city on the west shore of Lake Michigan which is a Great Lake. We just were down stairs to check on the spawns that we have going and didnt see a single abn fry. We put alot of pieces of slate in that aquarium for them so I can assume that they are hiding in all the nooks and crannies. What is recommended to feed the fry?

Feed the babies what ever your feeding the parents.
They are that easy to look after- some people may tell you different.

Thanx J.......... As of this morning we can't see ANY fry. We have alot of rocks piled up in that tank for them so I assume they are all hiding out in the nooks and crannies. Kinda disconcerning to go down there expecting to see LOTS of fry and find NONE... LOL
This sure is alot different than raising fancy goldies that we are used to.
