| mine are in bare bottom discus tanks are the mo
But's I have my largest batch by far in a cave atm and in view of dean's recent experience thinking of changing to gravel.
The grow out only has adult discus in so not a problem but it's too much hassle to have gravel in my discus grow outs

| 3-4mm natural coloured gravel in my 4ft grow out tank , I've thought about the bare bottom caper but have then heard stories similar to deano's with babies eating the crud of the bottom and getting ill. J | |

its just personal choice i think ive kept mine on bare bottom tanks for along time. i do water changes daily and clean the bottoms and sides weekly. and never again after what as just happend to my stock tank. the only thing it could have been is a bad bacteria that was on the bottom off the tank no fish as been added to the tank for months and i qt all new fish. the guppies are fine and the corries are fine just the bristlenoses copped it i think from feeding from a bare bottom tank.
