| something different from me again..... does any one know how to get licensed to becoe an official pleco breeder. had a few local LFS ask me if I can provide proof of being a registered and licensed pleco breeder. Just wondered if any one was licensed and if so then how, since you may find most of us care for our fish better than licensed people, alternatively how does a bit of paper prove that the fish are better looked after. As some establishments clearly buy good fish but dont look after them as a number can often be seen in some sad state... Not to mention we all occasionally get fish that are more prone and sensitive to changes in environment and diseases. Any thoughts on licensing and selling? kind regards LJ | |

| To be honest I've never heard of licensed pleco breeders, and have certainly never been asked if I was licensed.

| over here is Aus there is no licence required to breed plecos. or any fish for that matter, unless they are endangered and covered by Biodiversity coservation Act. but that is only a few of the murray river rainbows (which we are getting some breeding pairs at uni...SO EXCITED!!) Maybe he thought you were importing them. We DEF need a licence to import and andthe inspectors are crazy strict! but even if i was a licenced imported it still wouldnt do me cuch good as its illegal to import plecos Tho i could sort out some cheep rams | |

| well lets just say the LFS staff that mentioned it dont really know how to keep there fish...
in the 19 tanks I counted 15 were full of ram horn snails.... and they dont even mind passing them on to the hobbyist...
on another matter I think in the 15 fish I have had from them in a year only one survived, needless to say I dont buy from them any more...
think they were just asking to put me off speaking to the manager.... as they were generally asking if I had a fish breeding license..
and since I didnt wanna show them up I kindly walked round and surveyed there stock then left with my partner and dog...lol
regards
