| My lfs told me of a guy who used to keep large stones in a big tub of water in his garden in full sun for the algae to grow on them. Never tried it myself though | |

| Any time tank or tank ornaments are in sunlight a lot, then there'll be lots of algae ............. tillifox's idea is as good as any, although I personally wouldn't have it out in the garden as there's always the chance of introducing nasty's to the tank too | |

| You could place some glass jars of tank water in a sunny spot and leave them to develop a coat of algae. Empty the water out and let the jar sink in the tank. I haven't done this but when the sun comes out( -in june ) - I'll try it myself | |

| What worries me about leaving rocks etc in tank water is I worry about stagnant water and again what can happen. Call me a worry-wart but again unless there was an airstone or something I wouldn't consider this either.
I'm sure there are loads of BN's out there that never see fresh algae ................. that's why spirulina tabs etc are great as supplements, together with fresh veg.
