| My common brown has got some babies about to emerge from his cave. I am completely overrun with babies and have saturated the LFSs with them.
1. Do I leave these babies to emerge and get eaten? If some survive my main tank doesn't need any more and they will be too near related to stay and very difficult to catch without taking the tank furniture to pieces.
2. Do I save them and add them to an already overstocked baby tank? I have over 100 from several spawns and can't off load them.
I have to make the decision today or tomorrow as I can see the babies near the cave entrance.
I hate to condemn them to death but know they will keep coming.
What would others do? | |

| You need to seperate your male otherwise your just going to have the same problem again in a few weeks.
I'd put then in a fry saver for now, move the male into the babys tank until you reduce the number of young,
Have you tried advertising on Aquarist Classifieds you could either offer some of them for free or just a small charge to get the numbers to a more manageable quantity.

| I had the large male in the fry tank with his last lot of babies. He is just too big to be in there when he is not egg/fry minding and the filtration only just copes as it is with all the veg that is eaten in there LOL. I bought and set up two fry tanks so don't want another as I am running out of electricity sockets near where the tanks can go. I have advertised on Aquarists Classified and got rid of 20 to a very good home, but no more. I am happy to give these babies to genuine aquarists but one reply said 'I'll have some. How do you keep them?' so I ignored that one. They could go in one of the fry tanks but I don't seem to be able to move them on. The only thing I can think of is to bring them on till they're sexable and then more people want them. | |

| buy a butterfly fish or bumblebee catfish...lol... they kinda like they odd fry in a big way not always humane but they would have your fry under control in a few days.... then move them to a different tank....... I would get a bigger tank, or offload them for free on a fish society web page such as.... sheaf valley aquarist society etc... | |

sheaf valley aquarist society etc... If you do put an ad on Shealf valley then please make sure you put you location on the advert so people know where they need to collect from. But as it is mainly people from Yorkshire and the surrounding counties not sure you would get much interest unless you can post.

| I had a look at Sheaf Valley. I think it is too far from here - about a 2 hour drive. I will try around Wellingborough & Corby AS. I have no facilities to post. | |

| Hi June,
I live in Northampton and would like a nice female albino if you've got any. Currently have a couple of young browns, male is about 4inches and the female about 3.
Cheers Jon
