| hi can anyone give me any advice with the above yesterday i found 4 eggs and 8 empty shells on the gravel it was there first spawn heres hoping they get better with practice | |

There could be a number of reasons as Ls have a tendency to spook easy. Maybe the male wasn't happy with his cave or it's position, eggs weren't fertilized properly, another fish disturbed him or he's just learning still. Ls are alot harder to breed successfully than bn, the key is perfection. Parameters, temp, lighting, water flow, weather, aeration, tank mates, number of males and females or even the amount of traffic going past the tank. | |

| still only young fish about 17 months old as ive grew them on from fry so heres hoping they get it right in the end next time if it happens im going to try and tumble eggs but hes hoping it doesnt . | |
