| So Spawn #1 from my ALB SF Male & Comm SF female i have about 25 in the fry trap and they are about 1-1.5cm at nearly 2 weeks old. (Laid 1/6/12 - Hatched 4/6/12) Spawn #2 from My Comm SF male & Comm SF female have just hatched, I have 3 in the fry saver and i would easily say 100ish in the log with dad! He has got them all pinned into the back of the log & they are all wriggling away! (Laid 10/6/12 - Hatched 14/6/12) Spawn #3 should be laid any day now as the ALB SF Male & one of my Comm Females are getting cozy in the log. So far i have been transferring the Males either the day before they have laid or the day after in spawn #2 case As soon as these fry are large enough i will be doing the transfer into the 4ft tank & put my pair/trio in the 2 & 3fter i have set up. (I was going to do it the other way round) So far the #1 spawn are starting to munch away on Cucumber but are far from eating the whole piece i put in each day.. Water parameters are the following in the current spawn tank PH 7.4-7.6 AM 0 Nitrates 0 Nitrites 0 I am doing between 20-30% water changes daily & so far so good | |

| Spawn #1 - are about 1.5cm long now & flicking around the tankl Spawn #2 - Dad left the cave last night & i had spotted 2-3 itty bitty babies free swimming through the tank. I moved the log into the fry trap and just as i lowered it in 100's of babies came flying out into the trap... I am guessing i have 1 huge spawns or 2 little ones in here as the 2 females i had with him were verry hollow the day after he went a hiding! | |

| So spawn 1 & 2 are now 1.5-2cm long, Munging away on the cucumber & they love the algae pellets. I did the dreaded tank move today (out of the 2ft & into the 4ft) so far it has been 6hrs & no casualties, i guess i will know for sure by tomorrow morning.... Spawn 3 (which i thought would be here by now) is still in a fat belly but with a Cold front coming tomorrow night & another on thursday, i should definitely have some more soon! keep your fingers crossed for me | |

| Okdoki!
So it has taken just over 6 weeks & my first spawn of babies are now powering on at 3cm.... So to answer anyones questions, fry - when given plenty of food - can get to 3cm in 6 weeks.
A 3cm fry can get up to 7cm in 8 weeks....
My husband thinks i feed them better than him lol...
