Can You Have sand in a Bristlenose Breeding tank?

I was wondering if Albino Bristlenose can handle sand I know some types of fish can't handle sand? Exspecially Babies.

Hi,yes bristlenoses are o.k on sand and some people do keep them on it.Make sure you turn it over regularly or run something through it to let any trapped gases escape.I personaly prefer gravel but everyone has their own preferences.Just make sure it is the correct type of sand for aquariums.

Oh I forgot to mention the type I use, I use pool filter sand because the standards have to be high for human health and anything that is good for humans is good for fish

what other alternative sand has anyone used? I read somewhere someone used sand blasting sand in their tanks. I'm looking for a type of black sand but wanted to know if I have any other options other then the high priced stuff in pet stores

i am using quarts sand, galaxy its mostly black with white flexes. and it costs about $15 for 5 kg
