| Absolutely stunning!! Thanks for sharing. I understand the purple, but what is the Moscow trait? I am not trying to criticize, I'm just a bit ignorant of guppy variations. | |

Moscow guppies were developed in Russia (duh) and smuggled into the US I believe sometime in the 80's. The main defining traits are one solid color, preferably from nose to tail, large size (my females grow huge, the ones in the pic are still quite young), and a fair amount of color in the females. There are several color varieties, the various reds are probably most popular, and indeed stunning. I chose Purples simple because it's a hobby for me so I breed what appeals most to me personally. Black Moscows would be my second choice if I had the room! Sarah | |

| Thank you Johnny!! Unlike you, all the work was done by someone else though. I was able to start with pretty much what I want. All I have to do is maintain that with ruthless culling (the baby snappers help out there) and try to improve/accentuate what I can. Sorry you don't take pics, would love to see your strain. | Oh wow Sarahdd! The colours on those guppies are absolutely stunning! Well done! Can't say I've seen that colour in guppies before, so I must say, they are impressive! | |

| Thank you Silvashadow I'm afraid the pics are deceiving though, in reality the males are a gorgeous dark purple, not at all that color blue! I need to light them differently for pics, rather than using the flash. They do sometimes throw blues and blue-greens, but I aim solely toward a nice dark purple color. Just don't have the tank space for a second strain... Thanks again, Sarah | |
