| So I have a 5 inch sailfin and a 2 inch fem BN in my a 20 with some mollies n a little red tail cat(temporary set up) and my two plecs just started fighting today and the sailfin is gulping air and letting out bubbles and I don't know why! And they don't bother the other fish. Help? Update My water quality was horrible from 3 fish dying and I didn't know because I have so many plants and just assumed they were hiding. So yeah. But can that have caused the fighting? They are now in seperate tanks and I did a large water chance to lower the ammonia but I don't want the sailfin going after my other fish. | |

| stress does funny things to all animals.
The gasping was in response to the elevated ammonia levels burning the gills. it will take a while for them to get back to form.
once the tank is settled again it should be ok. Just make sure they have plenty of hidy holes | |

| sounds like they were extremely stressed get the ammonia settled and use stress zyme , its bacteria that helps the tanks nitrate cycle | |
