| Hey everyone, would just like some tips on getting peps to breed I have 2 males 9cm and 13cm with a big fat healthy female 7.5cm, had the the smaller male about a year but the other two only a month or so. Theyre in my breeding tank with a few big albinos n commons and probably 100 tiny fry atm. Have another tank which is a grow out tank. Just wondering if you reckon i should give peps their own tank or do a big water change or something lol. Everything else has been breeding heaps but them. Or have they just not been together long enough?

| Standard: water change, lower pH, lower temp. But most important, they'll breed, when they're ready and willing. | |

| Water change, 2-3°C down and that 0,4 pH (over 2 days) should do the trick. Then bring the temp back to your normal. If not, you might wanna seriously imitate the rain season: 1. End of the dry season: -1st. day- lower the flow in the filters, less food -no food for another 3 days, 2. Rain season: -5th day -30%water change, clean the filters=>full speed, aeration, lower the temperature by 1-2°C, FOOD!, lower the pH by 0,2, -25% water changes for another 3 days, and temp +pH down (0,2), good idea is to have the new water colder and softer than in the tank. FOOD! Some guys dimm the lights over the rain season 3. raise back the temp 2-3°C /day. And wait couple of days to see what happens. That's off the top of my head, for more info => google or check for similar topics here | |
