Male not fanning in cave with eggs-how to save them.

Hello all After much success in breeding my bn's I now have another dilemma. My male has stopped fanning a new batch of eggs in his cave. I'm worried this is because there was only a week or so gap in between the last lot of wrigglers and this lot. But he's also going down much deeper into the cave so it's impossible for him to move his fins.

First question: I'm getting a new cave for him but in the mean time, will I be able to save the eggs by placing them where there is a gentle water flow from the filter? I'm hoping so as I've done this. Otherwise, how would i get them out of a ceramic cave?

Second question: Do older batches eat the eggs?
