| Hello,
My guppies are currently struggling against columnaris :'( Ive decided their best hope of survival is adding salt as columnaris is not halotolerant (salt will kill it). Have read somewhere salt is bad for plecos, the tank is infected and needs treatment so quarantine a non option. Can my albino BN cope with a 7-10 day salt treatment? | |

| depends on how much salt you add, and what sort of salt.
Generally speaking they are pretty intolerant of salt but they are also quite hardy to different stressors for short periods of time.
As a general rule that I apply to all meds I used, halve it and you should be ok. The scaleless nature of bristlenose means they absorb more of the meds than other fish and as such we need to moderate the dose.
