| Last night I was happy to find that my kribs had laid there second round of eggs after the first round mysteriously disappearing overnight. This afternoon i have came home to find one of my apple snails in my kribs cave and two thirds of the eggs gone. I am furious. This is a warning to any one breeding egg laying fish snails will ruin it ALL!
p.s the poor krib female look so upset that she could not get this monstrous snail out of her house and stop it eater her babies . I have now moved the snails to another tanks.
I would be happy to know if anyone else has had this problem

| I have to say that I haven't come across any of my apple snails eating eggs, they tend to go for the unfertilized ones, or so I thought, Maybe others have had a bad experience too.

Angi I also have not had any problems with the Snails eating viable eggs, infact they appear to be of more benefit by way of disposing of the infertile or fungus eggs. I have them in all my breeding tanks [approx 20 tanks] as well as in my display tanks. Do you have any other fish besides the Kribs in the tank? CHEERS

| mmmmm.....I would be watching the Algae Eater I am assuming it to be what we know as 'Siamese Flying Foxes' here in Aus. I have heard that they can be a bit of a problem when trying to breed egg laying species. I am only guessing at that though, so maybe keeping a very close eye on the tank when the Kribs have spawned again would be a good idea, even though it sounds like you have been doing so already, it only takes a second for an egg eater to clean out a nest.
