| Henrietta is one of my tortoises - I got her when I was 2 yrs old, so she's at least 70+ now. Mainly for the younger females I built a 'nesting hill' a few days ago. Whilst giving them a drink today, H got in position to have a pee, or so I thought! I was gobsmacked to say the least when a perfectly formed egg popped out, next to my hill! It is now in the incubator to see if it is fertile : | |

| family think I am crazy right now... they think I am Dr dolittle.... only have fish and a dog too, but recently looked at rehoming a bearded dragon for a friend, and also a couple of rats....lol... though I must say I have not had a tortoise for a long time, I have been trying to source one ready for my next house move. Congratulations - take great care of your new pride | |

| Its funny - if I can't get a second fishtank then I'm considering either a tortoise or a bearded dragon as my other half is a huge reptile (as well as duck, moggie, doggie, rabbit .... well you get the picture) fan.
Look forward to seeing pictures when your egg hatches (fingers crossed). | |

| Subject: lol at mark... Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:55 pm | |
| ok mark let us start with that ....
first I now have three tanks,.... lol so past my second....
infact I did have five but down graded to three as I am pending a move later in the year....
the tortoise would be for the new garden ...lol... and compassion for one I lost a while back :(
the rabbit if i ever get one was for my partners son... who is currently suffering from eye sight problems and possible health problems-- though not sure if it should be a rabbit, bearded dragon or a chinchilla,or chipmunk right now..... though along with pets come responsibility so I am wondering whether all those plans should be put on hold since me, and the partner, and her son require a couple of long deserved holidays and since we have no immediate family able to take care of the fish or pets, I am thinking of animals and future pets for next year....
though a long term plan is to eventually run a animal sanctuary or fish rehoming service pre retirement so I can give something back to the animals and creatures that are so often over overlooked....
not forgetting though I am currently waiting for my dog to be assessed as a dog to be used for patient therapy for people in hospital with long term illness etc......
but I would never say no to ideas and equipment for me to reach those goals quicker....
and I like to say thank you to every one who helps me online.....
for advice from other fellow fish keepers and breeders is always useful....
stay happy, keep smiling and reward those that reward you
kind regards...
