| I've got fry that are 10 days old now. Longest I have kept them going so far. I put earthworm sticks in the tank, and also make a paste with golden pearls and smear on the side of the tank near the fry. Seems to be working this time, so heres hoping. | |

| Thats freakin awesome John ,I'm in the process of trying to source a nice male "Royal whiptail" for my female. As for rearing the babies, I've read you get good success if you a spare tank up and running with a tonne of algae growing in it - as you mentioned they are lazy feeders, so if the spare tank is covered in algae all they have to do is move and there should be food under their mouth. Congrats again on the spawn mate. J Also whats this "golden pearl" product your refering to susankat? | |

| These are more omnivore and require more protein in their diet. Mine are the royal sturisoma's. | |

| That's sweet to hear that they are all developing well, there's a good article @ PF about getting the babies to come good, feeding etc--worth a look. The two footer sounds like a good idea, in the article the dude mentions setting up the tank right in the sun to get algae growing - when you think you have enough drain the water bring it inside and fill him up again and add baby fish, so if you started this process now maybe you'll be right for the next spawn. Good luck again John. J | |
