| Thought i would do a step by step build of my fish room/shed. Started just before xmas 2011 Started with this I then removed the old shed I then started digging removing the soil Once the soil was removed down to hard ground i had to make the levels up so the shed sat above soil level. This involved moving 3Tons of hardcore and plate compacting it in every 2" of depth. Next part was making the shuttering. This was made using proper Aluminium shuttering board, bolted in the corners. I added 50mm of polystyrene floor insulation, then a plastic dampcourse layer, and then reinforcing bar spaced 50mm from the plastic. I also added a shower waste unit and pipe. I then made the shuttering for the path. I then brought 1 CuM of concrete, this weighed over 2.25 Tons. This did the base and some of the path All shuttering removed and concrete edges painted with Bitumen paint to stop damp ingress. Can also see the waste water pipe exiting the slab.

Racks were designed by me and will be made by me,I used to be a welder fabricator and have a rack in my garage that i made. i am using 50x25mm x3mm RHS and 40x40x4mm angle for the main frame I cut most of the steel to length today,It is now in my workshop ready to tack and weld.

| Started the wiring yesterday. hopefully get the main power cable in today Seemed to work hard yesterday and not get much done. need to drill 2x30mm holes through the garage to get the cable ducting and water pipe through. Main cable is a 6mm cable, twin and earth(3 core) water supply is a 15mm speedfit plastic pipe. All pipes and supply cable will be underground. | |

By the way, are you getting tanks custom made, or are you buying off the shelf? Roger. Thanks for the comments Roger. One rack is for plecs and cory,i am having all custom sized tanks for that side. each rack will have 1 x 36x18x10" tall,1 x 2ftx18x10 and 2 x 18x12x10 and there are 4 shelves that side so a total of 16 tanks. Other side has only 3 shelves and will have 2x48x15x15,2x24x15x15,1x24x18x18 and 3x18x12x12 and 2x24x12x12, this rack will also be able to take 18" tall tanks on the top shelf.and all shelves will accept 18" width tanks. This side will give 9 or 10 tanks depending what i decide to use.I have all the tanks for this rack, and extras.lol Custom tanls are being made by DC aquariums, and are an excellent price,I have ordered 19 tanks from them
